Daycare Holiday Closures

Daycare Holiday Closures

JCD will be closed on the following statutory and recognized holidays:

New Year's Day
Family Day
Good Friday
Easter Monday
Victoria Day
Canada Day
Civic Holiday
Labour Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
Boxing Day

Staff Preparation Days (Prep Days)
JCD will also be closed annually for two professional preparation days: one at the end of June (or early July) and another at the end of August (or early September). These specific operational dates are determined annually by management and the BOD, and families will be notified well in advance.

Winter Break Closure
In addition, JCD will be closed for approximately one week during the TDSB winter holiday school break. The exact closure dates are determined in advance based on how the calendar year falls, and will be communicated to families no later than the start of the school year in September.

Parent Responsibility
Custodial parents/guardians will be notified well in advance if the daycare is scheduled to close early or for any additional days during the year. When JCD is closed or closes early, it is the sole responsibility of the custodial parents/guardians to arrange alternate childcare at their own expense.
